BAFA increases funding rates from March 2026
The Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA) has announced significant increases to funding rates for business consulting programs, effective March 2026. This move aims to support more small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in accessing professional consulting services.
Under the new guidelines, the maximum funding rate for digitalization consulting will rise from 50% to 60% for eligible companies. Sustainability and organizational consulting programs will see similar increases, with some sectors receiving up to 70% funding for first-time applicants.
Companies planning consulting projects in 2026 should review the updated BAFA guidelines and consider applying early. The application process remains unchanged, but demand is expected to increase following this announcement.
